  4. Marine Industry – shipbuilding, ship repair and marine-related businesses

These thrusts are supported by two key enablers which are Renewable Energy (incl. CCUS, bioenergy) and Logistics (ECRL, Port, Airports).

The meeting noted that ECER is strategically positioned to attract companies seeking to diversify their operations, leveraging the multi-modal logistic connectivity of the region, ECRL as a critical land bridge connecting Kuantan Port and Port Klang, providing access to global markets.

ECERDC also appraised the meeting that it had identified a strategic industry in critical minerals to support the growing global industrial demand driven by electric vehicles, renewable energy technologies, and advanced manufacturing.

ECERDC is seeking companies that can undertake downstream activities in Malaysia whilst leveraging the ECRL to enhance logistics efficiency and facilitate the movement of goods.
