15 March 2010: Asian Business Summit

The President of MAJECA participated in the inaugural Asian Business Summit, hosted by Nippon Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) and held in Tokyo with the theme “Building Global Prosperity through Sustainable Asian Growth”. The summit was well-attended by top executives from thirteen (13) apex business organizations of eleven (11) Asian countries.

Keidanren is a comprehensive economic organization formed in May 2002 by the amalgamation of Keidanren (Japan Federation of Economic Organizations) and Nikkeiren (Japan Federation of Employers’ Associations). Its membership of 1,603 comprises 1,281 companies, 127 industrial associations and 47 regional economic organizations (as of June 15, 2011).

Its mission is to accelerate growth of the Japanese and global economy, and to strengthen the corporations to create value and transform the Japanese economy into something sustainable and driven by the private sector, made through reinforcement of the idea of individuals and local communities.

Keidanren also attempts to resolve international problems and to deepen economic relations with other countries through policy dialogue with governments, business groups and concerned international organizations.
