37th Annual General Meeting of MAJECA on 6 May 2014
MAJECA held its 37th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Banquet Hall, Bangunan AmBank Group, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur on 6 May 2014.
MAJECA AGM, chaired by its President, Tan Sri Azman Hashim was convened at 4:00pm upon obtaining the required quorum from MAJECA members.
Tan Sri Azman Hashim welcomed all members and its Executive Committee members and proceeded with the business of the AGM.

Tan Sri Azman Hashim delivered his address and thereafter the meeting proceeded to unanimously adopt the Annual Report and the audited accounts of the Association for the year ended 31 December 2013.

The meeting noted that at this AGM, YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Yeoh Tiong Lay retired as Vice-President of MAJECA, having served the association for 27 years.
On behalf of members, the President thanked Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Yeoh Tiong Lay for his immense contribution to the Association and expressed the hope that he will continue to support the Association and its activities even though he is no longer on the Executive Committee.
The Association extends its best wishes for his continued good health and happiness in the years ahead.

Mr Kenji Ohta, the new General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation, Kuala Lumpur Branch and Chief Executive of Mitsubishi Corporation, Malaysia made a courtesy call on Tan Sri Azman Hashim, President of MAJECA on 9 May 2014.

Luncheon with H.E. Dr. Makio Miyagawa, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia on 26 May 2014
Tan Sri Azman Hashim, President of MAJECA hosted a luncheon for H.E. Dr. Makio Miyagawa, the new Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia on 26 May 2014. H.E. Ambassador Dr. Makio Miyagawa came to Malaysia in March 2014. MAJECA learned that H.E. Ambassador had previously served in Kuala Lumpur, 20 years ago for a two and a half year term. He commented that much has changed since then.
Besides getting to know the Ambassador, MAJECA hopes to build upon and to maximize MAJECA’s relationship with the new Japanese Ambassador. MAJECA looks forward to working closely with the Ambassador to connect more Japanese SMEs to Malaysia as well as to move forward on the Look East Policy Second Wave, as mooted by our two Prime Ministers.
