19 – 21 October 2022: iNNOVATE Tech Show


The first-ever, iNNOVATE Tech Show, owned and produced by Best Events Productions, with support from the Malaysia-Japan Economic Association (MAJECA) will take place at MATRADE Exhibition & Convention Centre (MECC) Kuala Lumpur from 19-21st October 2022. The third installation of the Global Drone Conference and 2nd edition of Global Future Mobility will be co-located within the iNNOVATE Tech Show.

The iNNOVATE Tech Show, themed “Innovation and Technologies for a Better Future” will gather thought leaders and experts to meet and to share knowledge on innovation and to avail to collaborative opportunities. This show serves as a platform for companies in Asia to discover game-changing innovations to achieve business goals and eventually making Malaysia into a high-tech and high-income nation.

The show will feature the following events:

2. Third Edition of the Global Drone Conference, held on 19 -21 October 2022 at Paris 1 & 2 Room, Level 3, MECC

The Global Drone Conference will feature regional drone ecosystem players who will address a variety of business verticals including agriculture, construction, telecommunication, energy, and security surveillance amongst others, to explore future possibilities, applications and commercialisation of the drone market. The Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology and Innovation (MRANTI), an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) is the main partner of this event. Malaysia’s Drone Tech Innovations will be showcased at the Global Drone Conference & Exhibition 2022 and aims to position Malaysia as a world leader in drone regulatory readiness, market adoption and tech talent availability. The Global Drone Conference will also showcase latest drone technologies and solutions from solution providers across Asia.

3. Business-to-Business Meet Up Session, held on Day 2, 20 October 2022, at MAJECA Booth, Hall A, MECC

This meet up session is an opportunity for members to reconnect with each other and / or meet up with private sectors across Asia over a cup of coffee, while visiting the Tech Show.

4. C-Level AI and Robotics Roundtable, held on Day 3, 21 October 2022, at Dubai 2 Room, Level 3, MECC

This Roundtable Discussion is co-hosted by MAJECA, MASSA and InvestKL. The Roundtable will discuss case studies on how Al & Robotics can help to reach sustainable development goals across industries. It will focus on reasons for stepping up international cooperation, the issues and policy domains that appear most ready for enhanced collaboration and the instruments and forums that could be leveraged to achieve meaningful results in advancing international AI and Robotics standards, regulatory cooperation, and joint R&D projects to tackle global challenges.

YBhg Tan Sri Azman Hashim, President of MAJECA, will deliver the Welcome Remarks for this Roundtable Discussion. A panel of experts from across Asia, including Japan, will share their expertise in AI & Robotics sector.


This show will promote manufacturers, developers and suppliers of innovative products and services, industrial automation, software, technology delivery systems, drones, artificial intelligence (AI), robots, and Internet of Things and more with visitors from the Agriculture, Automotive, Building & Property, Manufacturing, Logistics & Transportation, Healthcare, Retail and Finance industries attending.

37th MAJECA-JAMECA Joint Conference on 1 July 2019 at EQ Kuala Lumpur

The 37th Conference of the Malaysia-Japan Economic Association (MAJECA) and Japan-Malaysia Economic Association (JAMECA) was held on 1 July 2019 at EQ, Equatorial Plaza, Kuala Lumpur.

YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia, graced this conference with a Keynote Address for the participants.  The theme of the conference focussed on“Expanding Trade & Investments between Malaysia and Japan in the Innovative Technologies Sectors”.   The Prime Minister also had a Q & A dialogue with delegates at the conference.

Since 1977, over four decades, MAJECA and its Japanese counterpart, Japan-Malaysia Economic Association (JAMECA), have played a dynamic role to help Malaysia achieve its economic industrialisation goals, as evident by more than 1,500 Japanese companies in many industrial sectors locating their businesses in Malaysia.   With the fast-changing business landscape, MAJECA takes cognizance that businesses need to adopt market-driven technological innovations to be able to compete effectively in the global marketplace.  

MAJECA is led by its President, Tan Sri Azman Hashim while JAMECA’s President is Mr Mikio Sasaki.

In his keynote speech at the 37th MAJECA-JAMECA Joint Conference, the Prime Minister presented the broad economic climate in Malaysia and the Government’s efforts to develop and restructure the industrial eco-system to meet the needs of the future with the adoption and application of digital and innovative technologies.  Prime Minister encouraged MAJECA-JAMECA to be instrumental to open new frontiers for investments and economic collaborations and partnership between our two countries.

The 37th MAJECA-JAMECA Joint Conference held on 1 July 2019 at the EQ Kuala Lumpur

The 37th Conference of the Malaysia-Japan Economic Association (MAJECA) and Japan-Malaysia Economic Association (JAMECA) was held on 1 July 2019 at EQ, Equatorial Plaza, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. More than 250 participants representing MAJECA and JAMECA members, industry leaders and entrepreneurs attended the Conference.

YAB Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia, graced the Conference with his attendance in the afternoon session, giving a Keynote Address and engaged the audience in a Q & A dialogue.

Since 1977, over four decades, MAJECA and its Japanese counterpart, Japan-Malaysia Economic Association (JAMECA), have played a dynamic role to help Malaysia achieve its economic industrialisation goals. Today, more than 1,500 Japanese companies in many industrial sectors have located their businesses in Malaysia. With the fast-changing business landscape impacted by changes resulting from Industry 4.0. MAJECA takes cognizance that businesses need to adopt market-driven digital and technological innovations to be able to compete effectively in the global marketplace.

In line with these current trends, the theme of the conference focused on “Expanding Trade & Investments between Malaysia and Japan in the Innovative Technologies Sectors”.

MAJECA and JAMECA were led by their respective Presidents, namely, Tan Sri Azman Hashim and Mr Mikio Sasaki. H.E. Dr Makio Miyagawa, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, read the Congratulatory Message from H.E. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan.
